Let's Have Some Fun(d), Cebu!

Did you know that June is actually the Financial Independence Month? Before attending the #SunLifeFUNday event last June 24, Sunday, I had no idea. I just participated in the event mainly to have fun with Cebu's local bands!  Seeing some of the best Cebuano local artists on-stage motivated me to join the event. It was awesome to see Bethany, Jackie Chang, and Mandaue Nights sharing their own music to the Ayala Center Cebu crowd. "First Kiss" was undoubtedly my most favorite among the performances. But it was just the usual concert you see in the mall. It was informative, too!  The event had three discussions targeted at millennials like me. The first topic was discussed by Kaz Onozawa entitled "Money after Graduation," and I generally would have wanted the talk to be about struggling college graduates who are about to get their first job. Millennials, especially those who have recently graduated, will undoubtedly have a hard time figurin

10 Tips For A Better Life Ahead: The Millennial Way

Saving is easy to say but difficult to start, especially for a millennial like me. Having friends is perhaps one of the reasons why it is difficult for me to start saving. Maybe for most millennials, too. THAT EUREKA MOMENT When we planned to book a plane ticket for Singapore, my supposed first international trip last year, I was hesitant. I had that YOLO (You Only Live Once) moment believing that as long as I have money, I can travel. If I don't go with them, I might have that FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) feeling. I decided to back out last minute because of an emergency back home and didn't have enough savings to fund my travel. I have learned my lesson from that experience. First, I need to have a separate travel and emergency fund. This will allow me to become a more responsible millennial without sacrificing my YOLO plans in life. I can only achieve this if I manage my money wisely. Like me, are you also looking for some financial advice on how to save for a be

How Can Social Media Change the Financial Literacy Mindset of Millennials?

When talking about financial literacy , most of the things I learned are from the discussions I have had with my friends and personal research through the pages of the internet. In simplest terms, financial literacy is budgeting your money and understanding how money works so that you will get the most of its value over time. I feel that the lessons I got in the classrooms during my high school years were inadequate. Either they lacked content or I didn't have a mature mindset to understand inflation, the stock market, insurance, and other technical financial jargons back then. In my mind at that time: I just needed to pass this subject! And here comes the so-called "real world" after graduating college. After my 15 years of studying, where will I go next? Will my family expect me to be already earning enough money and can I give them a monthly portion of my paycheck? When will I reach my first million peso savings? Like you, my fellow millennials, it was only

Dear Millennials, Let's Use Technology To Save Our Future

Dear Fellow Millennials, We are lucky to live in this time when digital and technology are shaping our lives. From sending snail mails that take weeks or months to arrive, it now takes less than a second to send a message online. From searching through the alleys of the library, it only takes a button to do a research on any topic imaginable. We are the generation that experienced the advent of technology as we moved up in the ladder of the educational system. Some of us already had mobile phones when we were in elementary. We learned to embrace social media and smartphones later on. This generation is the living witness of how awesome Nokia 3310 was! We had also seen the rise of iPhone's popularity. Google and Facebook have become the two websites we use almost every day, right? We are the generation that made traveling fun and proved to everyone that we can do it even on a budget! We are travel superheroes, thanks to bloggers who made it easy for us. We made selfies t

Where I Tambay to Find Pokemon Sightings in Cebu

There's no Pikachu on my sightings. Why?  I travel across the world, searching far and wide... My childhood was filled with Pokemon memories. I followed the anime years back but did you know that it is still ongoing? When I was ten, they were ten. Now that more than a decade has passed, they're still ten? Why aren't they growing up yet? Sadly I didn't have the luxury of a gameboy or any of the previous Pokemon games. I just recently brought my smartphone that I have one now, will I waste time not to play this game? I actually hesitated to play on the first day of release in the Philippines last August 6 (Saturday) since everyone was playing but the next day when I was convinced by my friends to walk around to catch Pokemon, I ended the day with Level 10. After 5 days, I'm at Level 20 with 77 unique Pokemons. Kay pataka lang og click, wala nakadakop ni Pikachu. Ka-weak ba nako. Next stop: Ayala. Sunod SM. Dayon IT Park. #priorities #kidsthesedays

Sa Unang Pagkagis sa Imong Agi

Ingon sila lisod kuno mamahimong magsusulat.
