Zuprome: 8th Cebu Best Blogs Awards Finalist

Cebu Best Blogs Awards 2015 recognized a neophyte blogger’s attempt at blogging!  Now on its 8th year, Cebu Best Blogs Awards is an annual award giving body that has been recognizing outstanding blogs made by Cebuano bloggers since 2008. It aims to acknowledge the best Cebu blogs that are of high quality and at par with the international bloggers. ZUPROME: Best Cebu Events/Entertainment Blog 2015 Finalist Zuprome , my first serious blog after a dozen of childish attempts to make a noise in Cebu blogosphere, has been shortlisted to be a finalist in Best Cebu Events/Entertainment Blog 2015 . It’s an honor to become a finalist in this category knowing that my co-finalists are already established bloggers! This recognizes pushes me to strive harder to become a better blogger. I share the stage with the Cebu Blogging Community family who has been very supportive in my endeavor to level up my passion in blogging to another level. Cebu Best Blogs Awards Night

Foodie Alert: Breads & Pastries from Madeleine

Madeleine is one of the several restaurants you can find inside Waterfront Hotel Cebu. This restaurant is the hotel’s French-inspired bread and pastry shop, making it stand out among the rest of the restaurants. You would go crazy if you are a cake-lover because this shop serves one of the best cakes in town! Last October 16, 2015, Madeleine just launched its new set of pastries and bread. The launching also highlighted their new French Executive Pastry Chef, Benoit Andre Laboureux, who is responsible for the newfangled pastries and bread.  (photo from Waterfront Hotel Cebu Facebook) For this article, allow me to focus more on their pastries. They had served a lot of mouth-watering desserts for us to taste. The only dessert not found in the photo though is the Sphere Choco Green Tea. It is a sphere of chocolate with a Green Tea flavor.  I had the savored two of the eight delightful pastries that they have served – The Crunchy Choco Baileys and the Choc

The Curious Case of Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

I first heard of Sirao Flower Farm in Sirao Peak, Cebu City when I was riding a taxi. Little did I know that Sirao Flower Farm (aka Mini Amsterdam in Cebu) is a trending topic in social media.  For sure, everyone who have heard about the beautiful celosia flowers in Sirao Peak will surely search on how to go there and take a selfie. For only P20.00, you will be able to take a picture that you can post in your Instagram and share it on Facebook. For P100.00, you can take a video and upload it online. Add popular hashtag like #SiraoFlowerFarm, #SiraoPeak, #MiniAmsterdam, and #MiniAmsterdaminCebu to increase visibility and engagement. NOT JUST SELFIES On the other hand, here’s the sad reality: the celosias aren’t treated properly. People are not just simply taking pictures but ruining the beautiful celosias in Sirao Flower Farm. With hundreds of Cebuanos flocking to Sirao every day, I cannot help but feel sad about the status of the celosias and how they are treated by
