Are you one of the writers who sent a submission to the 31st Cornelio Faigao Workshop? If yes, then you're one of the 91 submissions that the committee deliberated over last October 14, 2015.
Due to the high volume of entries, the committee decided to give way to writers who have not been included in previous Faigao workshops. The decision was made to encourage neophyte writers and build the Cebuano literary community.

FAIGAO FELLOWS
The USC Cebuano Studies Center is pleased to announce the fifteen (15) fellows to the 31st Cornelio Faigao Memorial Annual Writers Workshop on November 3-5, 2015.
The workshop received 91 applications, an all-time high of submissions compared to the previous years. The screening committee deliberated on the applications last October 14, 2015.
This year’s fellows from Luzon in the category of the short story in English are Michelle Faulan Chedjou (University of the Philippines - Diliman), Matthew Jacob Ramos (Ateneo de Manila University) and Fe Esperanza Trampe (Ateneo de Manila University).
From the Visayas, the fellows for Cebuano poetry are Hannah Marie Aranas (University of San Carlos), Astrid Marie Ilano (University of the Philippines - Cebu), Jae Mari Magdadaro (University of the Philippines - Cebu), Monica Gloria Manluluyo (University of the Philippines - Cebu), Reynaldo Masana (Holy Name University), Dave Pregoner (Cebu Normal University), and Tara Angela Prieto (University of the Philippines - Cebu). The fellows for the short story in English are Xyrisse Abrasaldo (Silliman University), Marc Gabriel Abuan (University of San Carlos), and Anne Katherine Aguilar (University of San Carlos).
From Mindanao, the fellow for the Cebuano short story is Angelito Nambatac Jr. (MSU-IIT) and for poetry in English is Gino Boy Dolorzo (Xavier University).
The workshop will be held at the Hale Manna Resort, Moalboal, Cebu. Known as a house of good energies, Hale Manna has become home to several Faigao workshops.
This year’s esteemed panel of critics are Dr. Erlinda Alburo, Dr. Victorio Sugbo, and Mr. Noel Tuazon. Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu, director of the Cebuano Studies Center will join the workshop together with Ms. Haidee Palapar (deputy workshop director) and workshop secretariat Raphael Dean Polinar and Julius Cesar Cudera.
