How This Blog Became Zuprome

Since April 2014 when I started about Zuprome, countless things have improved for the past a year and a half. From a simple free Blogger blog to a blog with personal domain, I’m still figuring out whether to move to Wordpress for good.

CALLING IT ZUPROME

Often mispronounced, Zuprome /zaprowm/ is a concatenation of colloquial word ‘wazzup’ and my first name. When I thought about this name, it’s a challenge to relay the correct pronunciation to other people, especially those who I have not personally met (yet).

I recently bought another domain of which I have yet to finalize what it will be about. Originally slated to be a travel blog about places in Cebu, I might reconsider and make it into an Arts & Culture Events blog featuring all the recent happenings in Cebu arts and culture. Ping me if you want to be a part of this team and convince me to move forward.

JOINING CEBU BLOGGING COMMUNITY

Without having a community of Cebuano bloggers who consistently convinced me to become an active blogger, I might have not gone serious in this endeavor. Cebu Blogging Community is that one place where neophyte bloggers should join and become an active member to enjoy perks and be with a team who truly supports you in every step of the way.

Convinced? If you want to join Cebu Blogging Community, click this form here.

30 DAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE

When I heard about this challenge from Cebu Blogging Community, I didn’t hesitate to join. Not only that there will be some perks along the day, having an active blog is the biggest reason why I joined. Learning tips and tricks on how to improve my blog is something I can’t be more grateful of.

It’s already the 10th day of the 30 Day Blogging Challenge and I have also updated by About and Contact page of this blog as part of the challenge. It’s a big step since I haven’t touched these pages for sometime until today.

MOVING FORWARD

While there are monetization efforts on this blog, I haven’t fully earned something I can be proud of. It doesn’t matter for now. I wanted to focus in improving my content and blog authority.

I have also pending collaborations with colleagues that I am most excited to blog in the upcoming days. If you have any ideas that we can turn into reality, pitch it to me and let’s start from there!

#UPCebuAfterSunset compiles ghost stories from UP Cebu

Ghost hunting, horror stories, paranormal activities… you can visit UP Cebu to experience these out-of-this-world events. Yes, University of the Philippines Cebu is one of the spooky places in Cebu where there are spiritual sightings. I have compiled several ghost sightings in the campus as determined by some of the students I’ve talked to and conversations heard and read here and there, some of which are edited version of confessions from “ Speak UP, Iskolar ” published late last year. Believe it or not, according to them, these stories are true and they can attest to the veracity of these experiences. I have categorized these stories according to the places these ghost stories happened. If you have additional stories you experienced, feel free to share those to us by sending it here . The Curious Case of Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

I first heard of Sirao Flower Farm in Sirao Peak, Cebu City when I was riding a taxi. Little did I know that Sirao Flower Farm (aka Mini Amsterdam in Cebu) is a trending topic in social media.  For sure, everyone who have heard about the beautiful celosia flowers in Sirao Peak will surely search on how to go there and take a selfie. For only P20.00, you will be able to take a picture that you can post in your Instagram and share it on Facebook. For P100.00, you can take a video and upload it online. Add popular hashtag like #SiraoFlowerFarm, #SiraoPeak, #MiniAmsterdam, and #MiniAmsterdaminCebu to increase visibility and engagement. NOT JUST SELFIES On the other hand, here’s the sad reality: the celosias aren’t treated properly. People are not just simply taking pictures but ruining the beautiful celosias in Sirao Flower Farm. With hundreds of Cebuanos flocking to Sirao every day, I cannot help but feel sad about the status of the celosias and how they are treated by
