Bisrock Fanatic? Watch ‘Gugmang Giatay’, A Bisrock Jukebox Musical



In early 200’s, Bisrock was a big thing. When it lost its popularity, there was Vispop. The third season just recently ended. After Vispop Musical Festival last month, what’s next? 

The Cebuano music scene will once be alive this October 2015 since the musical “Gugmang Giatay” will be officially staged after a series of excerpts played during Vispop 2.0 Finals Night last year and Vispop Music Festival in UP Cebu last month.

If you’re a Bisrock fan, relive the glorious days of Cebuano music industry. Listen to the popular songs like ‘Tsaeh’, ‘Ang Tigulang’, ‘Inday’, titular ‘Gugmang Giatay’ and other songs you missed from the previous decade.

If there’s something I’m excited about, it’s whether there will be Vispop songs that will be played in this musical.

Dubbed as a new Bisrock jukebox musical, “Gugmang Giatay” will hit the stage of CAP Auditorium on October 23,2015 (8pm) and October 24, 2015 (2pm and 8pm) and tickets will be P300 for 2pm show while P300 and P500 for 8pm shows. For ticket orders, contact Adelfa at 09331880999.

After the successful Vispop 3.0, the fun doesn’t end there! Vispop 4.0 is now official! If you want more good news, here it is: the Vispop team will gather more entries outside Cebu to compete and expand songs of Visayan Pop (Vispop) and OPM in general. Yes, OPM isn’t just composed of the Tagalog music but other Philippines languages like Cebuano, too.


If you are planning to join Vispop 4.0, start writing your entry songs and wait for submission announcements in Vispop’s official Facebook page.

Piolo, Enchong to represent Sun Life in Cebu Ironman 70.3

The Sun Life Financial Triathlon Team will be marking its 5th year by participating in Ironman 70.3 in Cebu on August 5 by fielding a total of 13 racers in the prestigious competition, led by brand ambassador Piolo Pascual, actor Enchong Dee, and its very own executives.   Piolo, who will bike for one of the relay teams, will once again team up with Enchong (swim) and his longtime friend, Tonie Ty (run). The Curious Case of Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

I first heard of Sirao Flower Farm in Sirao Peak, Cebu City when I was riding a taxi. Little did I know that Sirao Flower Farm (aka Mini Amsterdam in Cebu) is a trending topic in social media.  For sure, everyone who have heard about the beautiful celosia flowers in Sirao Peak will surely search on how to go there and take a selfie. For only P20.00, you will be able to take a picture that you can post in your Instagram and share it on Facebook. For P100.00, you can take a video and upload it online. Add popular hashtag like #SiraoFlowerFarm, #SiraoPeak, #MiniAmsterdam, and #MiniAmsterdaminCebu to increase visibility and engagement.
