Best of Zuprome: 10 Most-Read Posts and Lessons Learned from 30 Day Blogging Challenge

It has been 25 days since I started joining this 30 Day Blogging Challenge of Cebu Blogging Community. Out of the 26 blog posts, I decided to curate the top 10 most-read blog posts and give some takeaway from these blogging journey that you can on your blog, too.

Since I started joining the 30 Day Blogging Challenge, no challenge has passed without me accepting it. Today, we were tasked to write a blog post covering 10 of the blog posts from this challenge. With that, I decided to curate this 10 most-read blog posts.

 10 MOST-READ BLOG POSTS

10. How This Blog Became Zuprome

Okay, I didn’t expect this blog post to get attention from the community. I was just told to be vain for a moment and talk about myself. I don’t know how to be not too vain so I decided to write about the history of Zuprome. With this entry being included in the top 10 most-read blog posts this month is a shock to me. Why would vanity be something that people love to read?

If you dare, you can read about the history of Zuprome and know how Zuprome should be pronounced. Dare if you can.

9. 10 Reasons Why I Decided to Join the 30 Day Blogging Challenge

When I decided to join the 30 Day Blogging Challenge, it was because I wanted to prove myself that, for at least once, I can honor my commitment to something I wanted to do.

The journey for the past 25 days has not been easy and there are times that I wanted to skip the challenge, but I decided to take all challenges because I can. (And, see, I am still surviving.)

Luckily, I’m still surviving and going to Siquijor tomorrow night. Good luck to the rest of the month’s journey! Well, it will definitely be challenging, but why wouldn't I accept any challenge to come?

8. Best of Zuprome: October 1-7, 2015

This blog post is my first content curation from the previous blog posts I did. I didn’t realize the power of such list until I started making one. Since I am starting to make blogging as of my daily to-do’s, expect so see more of these in the coming days.

This blog post is another content curation post, by the way. Isn’t that great? More traffic and more internal linking = lesser bounce rate.

7. Best of Zuprome: Good Vibes Blog About UP Cebu

UP Cebu is one of my major topics on this blog. I started blogging about UP Cebu when I was still a student but only realized and fully materialized this vehicle when I started Zuprome a year ago.

It’s one of my ways to give back to the community and promote the student-organized on-campus events! As an Iskolar, giving back to the UP Cebu community is a must.

Blogging-related articles is also a good source of traffic. Blogging will never get old. While the method of blogging will continue to evolve, blogging, in general, will remain relevant to the online community. Writing quality blogging articles will give you traffic not only at the present but also in the coming years.

5. Bisrock Fanatic? Watch ‘Gugmang Giatay’, A Bisrock Jukebox Musical

4. 30 Day Blogging Challenge: 'I Want To Give Up'

Yes, I almost gave up 30 Day Blogging Challenge. Countless times. If this happens to me, I will look back the reasons why I decided to join this challenge and check out this post for more motivational tips that can encourage you to continue this journey.

Why finish the 30 Day Blogging Challenge? It’s always fun to succeed in the eyes of the public than allowing them to remember how you fail. Dili ba?

3. Blogging 101: How To Be A Responsible Blogger

It’s easy to become a blogger, but to be a responsible blogger is a challenge. Why? Being a responsible blogger means you accept all the responsibilities innate to becoming a blogger. As a responsible blogger, you can ready to become a professional blogger. Isn’t that exciting?

2. 5 Things You Need to Know About Chef on Demand

Chef on Demand is an award-winning startup that aims to deliver good food to busy people like us. They are currently delivering in Cebu IT Park and Cebu Business Park. I’m connected with Chef on Demand and I decided to blog about them. In return, they featured my blog post in their page and it gained traction in the community.

1. #BalakPaMore: Cebuano Poetry in Random Corners of Cebu

Cebuano literary scene is also something I am willing to write. The community is alive and efforts made by teachers to promote local literature should be applauded. Upon seeing #BalakPaMore posts by the students of UP Cebu, I didn’t hesitate to write about it.

BLOGGING TIPS TAKEAWAY

1. Share your content in social media. Always.

Promoting your content in social media should be a must. A blog without social media presence is next to dead. Joining blog syndications in various blog-related groups can be beneficial to neophyte bloggers. If you wish, you can join Cebu Blogging Community for free.

2. Write your content in list form. It’s easier to read.

A blog post should be informative and easy to read. You should consider two types of readers: those who love reading and those who don’t.

Writing a blog post for these two types of readers in a list form will cater to both audiences. Those who are interested will read the details while those who aren’t will simply read the bullet items.

3. Go for your content curation featuring your top posts.

Do this method on a regular method. It’s a tactic to increase traffic and decrease bounce rate. Make sure to do-follow all internal links! It will do magic in search engine optimization (SEO) results.

4. Blogging daily will definitely increase your traffic.

More blog posts = more traffic. That’s given. While content is king, don’t forget that engagement is queen. Make sure not to leave these blog posts untouched. As stated in the first bullet, make sure to share them online!

5. You should consider joining a 30 Day Blogging Challenge, too.

Yes, I bet you should. Not only that it will give you more traffic, it will also develop your attitude towards blogging. If you’re joining a blogging community like Cebu Blogging Community, it will also be a vehicle towards success. I can attest that.

#UPCebuAfterSunset compiles ghost stories from UP Cebu

Ghost hunting, horror stories, paranormal activities… you can visit UP Cebu to experience these out-of-this-world events. Yes, University of the Philippines Cebu is one of the spooky places in Cebu where there are spiritual sightings. I have compiled several ghost sightings in the campus as determined by some of the students I’ve talked to and conversations heard and read here and there, some of which are edited version of confessions from “ Speak UP, Iskolar ” published late last year. Believe it or not, according to them, these stories are true and they can attest to the veracity of these experiences. I have categorized these stories according to the places these ghost stories happened. If you have additional stories you experienced, feel free to share those to us by sending it here . The Curious Case of Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

I first heard of Sirao Flower Farm in Sirao Peak, Cebu City when I was riding a taxi. Little did I know that Sirao Flower Farm (aka Mini Amsterdam in Cebu) is a trending topic in social media.  For sure, everyone who have heard about the beautiful celosia flowers in Sirao Peak will surely search on how to go there and take a selfie. For only P20.00, you will be able to take a picture that you can post in your Instagram and share it on Facebook. For P100.00, you can take a video and upload it online. Add popular hashtag like #SiraoFlowerFarm, #SiraoPeak, #MiniAmsterdam, and #MiniAmsterdaminCebu to increase visibility and engagement. NOT JUST SELFIES On the other hand, here’s the sad reality: the celosias aren’t treated properly. People are not just simply taking pictures but ruining the beautiful celosias in Sirao Flower Farm. With hundreds of Cebuanos flocking to Sirao every day, I cannot help but feel sad about the status of the celosias and how they are treated by
