As we explored the place, we learned that Siquijor is more than just a Mystical Island. It’s a paradise.
During our #SensationalSiquijor trip organized by the PIA Cebu and Information and Tourism Officers of Region VII last October 28-30, 2015, fellow bloggers from the Cebu Blogging Community were invited to join the workshop-seminar-adventure-race with the theme “Bridging Information and Tourism Through Social Media” at Coco Grove Beach Resort, San Juan, Siquijor.
During the first day of the event, we were welcomed by the Governor of Siquijor, Hon. Zaldy S. Villa. During his Welcome Message, he noted that the social media and bloggers is a powerful device to promote Siquijor. As bloggers, we initiated several learning adventures with the local government units and tourism officials on how the maximize the power of social media and blogging in order to promote the beauty of Siquijor and other events organized by various local government units online.
After the Welcome Dinner, we talked with various participants and co-bloggers how to make the most of our time during the first ever #InfoTourismAdventureRace the whole day today.
We explored various local attractions and amazing wonders of Siquijor as we were excited to teach the basics of blogging and social media to our fellow government official and tourism officers. As we explored the various sighting and tourist attractions in Siquijor, we realized how beautiful this place is.
Siquijor can be traveled within a day. It’s a wonderful and majestic place. During the entire day of #InfoTourismAdventureRace, we explored various places, tourism attractions and things that Siquijor is known for. Truly such a wonderful wander!
SIQUIJOR RESORT
The resort where we stayed is Coco Grove Beach Resort in San Juan, Siquijor. It’s a great place to relax and unwind from the city stress. If you wish to stay in a place away from the advent of technology, reserve a room at this Siquijor Resort and be with the people you love.
It’s perfect for reflection if you ask me. It’s a day with nature and you can truly feel how magical and mystical Siquijor is.
MYSTICAL TOUR
The Mystical Tour we had dubbed as #InfoTourismAdventureRace is a great exercise and experience to know more about Siquijor and at the same time learn from the members of the team. We bravely fought and it was a day full of fantastic adventures!
BLOGGING
Tomorrow will be the last day of our experience. It’s definitely an experience I wish to share with the community. Taking into an adventure like this will empower more powerful to maximize the use of technology—blogging and social media, in general—to promote our advocacies.
As we leave this island, we will bring with us the adventures of a lifetime. More than anything else, we hope that we were able to teach the participants the values they need to learn on how to harness the power of technology.
Blogging will always be fun. It’s more fun when we share we know to more people for them to use in their daily endeavors. To more online and offline adventures to come! Thank you, Cebu Blogging Community and PIA Cebu for making this happen.
