That Thing Called Blogging

After a dozen attempts in blogging, here I am pursuing blogging Zuprome more than just a hobby. I aim to make blogging a source of fun and funds for more adventures to come. Zuprome is more than just a random word created out of nowhere, I envision it to become a respected brand. Who knows, it might become one.

Blogging, just like anything you do, demands you to focus and improve your capability as a blogger and a writer. As the medium continues to evolve because of the advent of technology, the core of blogging will always remain: to showcase your experience to the readers and give them a worthwhile experience.

Now that it’s already 2015, the challenge to become a blogger stands still. More than just a blogger, to become a responsible blogger should be the vision of everyone who writes beyond just fun.

WHAT’S IN BLOGGING

I have a friend who questioned the value of blogging since it’s already 2015. Gone are the days when blogging was an easy source of money. He failed to acknowledge, however, that blogging will never be obsolete. It’s an evolving medium. Today, due to the advent in technology, there are already video bloggers. As the medium continues to evolve, the ways of monetization has evolved, too.

If the prominent way of blogging of the yesteryear was pay-per-click advertising, welcome to the world of affiliate marketing and sponsored posts. If you can already establish your brand, you’ll continue to get money as you need. There’s no question about that. The goal of every blogger shouldn’t just be showing Google Adwords or Nuffnang Ads, but becoming a brand that the public can easily recognize.

WHY DO I BLOG

Zuprome started as a personal blog with no direction. I wanted it to become a lot of things and, to be honest, it’s slowly involving into something more local and unified. It will continue to evolve and within a year, I envision it to become a force to reckon with.

I continue to blog because I wanted to do something good. I wanted to be the mouthpiece of good news and awareness to my fellow readers. I wanted to give voice to everyone no matter who small they are, as long as they carry with them the hearts of gold.

WHAT KEEPS ME BLOGGING

Blogging is becoming a lifestyle and this 30 Day Blogging Challenge proved that I can do something if I desire to do it. It’s a written proof that I can fully commit to something and I can survive the challenges ahead of me. Sure, there will be a lot of obstacles that will come my way as a blogger, but what matters most is how I deal with these things.

The wide array of possibilities ahead of me encourages me to continue blogging and improve my craft.

BLOGGING TAKEAWAY

As an evolving blogger who is open to a lot of possibilities, I should continue to evolve what Zuprome is and become an established in a few years ahead. To be able to do this, I should learn to unlearn. Here is what I learned so far: don’t aim to be the best at everything ending up not being good at even one thing; be best at one niche and be good with the rest.

You, too, can surely start a blog. It’s a fun journey ahead!

#UPCebuAfterSunset compiles ghost stories from UP Cebu

Ghost hunting, horror stories, paranormal activities… you can visit UP Cebu to experience these out-of-this-world events. Yes, University of the Philippines Cebu is one of the spooky places in Cebu where there are spiritual sightings. I have compiled several ghost sightings in the campus as determined by some of the students I’ve talked to and conversations heard and read here and there, some of which are edited version of confessions from “ Speak UP, Iskolar ” published late last year. Believe it or not, according to them, these stories are true and they can attest to the veracity of these experiences. I have categorized these stories according to the places these ghost stories happened. If you have additional stories you experienced, feel free to share those to us by sending it here . The Curious Case of Sirao Flower Farm in Cebu

I first heard of Sirao Flower Farm in Sirao Peak, Cebu City when I was riding a taxi. Little did I know that Sirao Flower Farm (aka Mini Amsterdam in Cebu) is a trending topic in social media.  For sure, everyone who have heard about the beautiful celosia flowers in Sirao Peak will surely search on how to go there and take a selfie. For only P20.00, you will be able to take a picture that you can post in your Instagram and share it on Facebook. For P100.00, you can take a video and upload it online. Add popular hashtag like #SiraoFlowerFarm, #SiraoPeak, #MiniAmsterdam, and #MiniAmsterdaminCebu to increase visibility and engagement. NOT JUST SELFIES On the other hand, here’s the sad reality: the celosias aren’t treated properly. People are not just simply taking pictures but ruining the beautiful celosias in Sirao Flower Farm. With hundreds of Cebuanos flocking to Sirao every day, I cannot help but feel sad about the status of the celosias and how they are treated by
