Upon hearing that the community of Cebu bloggers formally known as Cebu Blogging Community will conduct at 30-day blogging challenge this October 2015, I didn’t hesitate to participate.
Joining such an activity is definitely a challenge to me since I haven’t successfully done a 30-day challenge prior to this one. I attempted to do several challenges before like reading one literary piece per day or jogging everyday but failed due to my busy schedule and, honestly, I had some problem with commitment due to my dramatically diverse lifestyle.
If asked why I decided to participate this 30 Day Blogging Challenge, here are the reasons why:
1. More Posts
Blogging, especially for neophytes, is definitely a tedious challenge. Starting a blog is so easy that keeping it alive after years, or even just months, may not be possible for those people who are too busy to focus on other things.
Thus, joining this 30 Day Blogging Challenge will definitely benefit me as a neophyte blogger. I will be producing at least one blog post per day in the next 30 days. The future of this blog in the next 4 weeks is now certain.
2. More Traffic
With 30 additional blog posts to this relatively new blog, I expect to see drastic increase in my monthly traffic. To be able to understand the changes in traffic, make sure to connect to an external Analytics monitoring software like Google Analytics.
With more traffic comes more blog visibility in the search engines! Isn’t it good news for me?
3. Do Something Productive
With too many things to focus in life, finding something that will be beneficial not only to myself but to the community is a challenge. To a person who cannot fully focus on one thing, joining this 30 Day Blogging Challenge will be challenge that I’m willing to take.
Successful or not, at least I decided to embark on this challenge.
4. Improve my Writing
Improving my writing would not be possible with writing and writing alone. With an active community and love for reading, one’s writing can be improved over time. On another note, writing 30 blog articles can generally improve my command for words; that is, if I'll be patient enough to read before I publish my blog. Reviewing my blog posts will now be more challenging than creating them.
5. Commitment
As discussed in the first few paragraphs, commitment is something I still need to improve. By committing myself to blog daily in the next 30 days, if I end up being successful, this goes to say that at this age, I have now improved my sense of commitment to work.
6. Achieve Something Good
I aspire to blog positivity in the next 30 days. With writing positive and constructive blog posts, I want to become a morally upright blogger who wishes to help rather than be destructive to them. As a blogger, I commit myself to be true to my words and, at the same time, be sensitive to the negativity.
7. Start a Habit
As I have read from Matt Cutts, if you want to do something, do it for the next 30 days. Now that I decided to officially start this blogging challenge, I wish to develop the habit of blogging regularly. In the next months, this might not be daily but at least post on a regular basis (which is yet to be determined).
8. Inspire Others
When I decided to commit to this 30 Day Blogging Challenge, I envision to become a neophyte blogger who can inspire other newbies out there to start their own 30-day blogging challenge. Doing it alone wouldn’t be easy. Do it with a community!
9. Promote Cebu Blogging Community
If there’s a community for Cebu bloggers, I can recommend you to join Cebu Blogging Community. Recently just turned one, Cebu Blogging Community is a home of Cebu’s successful bloggers and the good thing about this community is they are helpful even to neophyte bloggers like me.
10. Earn the Golden Badge
After achieving something, one deserves to get an award such as the Cebu Blogging Community Golden Badge. Who doesn’t want one? If I successfully finish this challenge, I can officially add this badge on this blog.
